DJ Shigeki - As brilliant as the Rising Sun
In this increasingly crowded planet of house DJs, only someone with a truly dynamic, earthy and powerful style, experience and talent with universal appeal can shine like the rising sun. Like summer rain water quenching the most arid of soils, Shigeki is that same liquid effect on the drum of house-lovers' ears. Born in Japan and originating from Sydney's vibrant music scene, Shigeki is a continual international commodity on the clubbing circuit and grabbing attention in local clubbing media.
Shigeki's impressive list of clubs, parties and events continue to grab the attention of promoters in Australia, East Asia and Europe. He has weaved his musical artistry through various venues with return invites, including the Atlantis Mediterranean Cruises playing nine gigs in eighteen days with different musical journeys and tastes for sets varying in time and event themes. Also, his five year Saturday night residency on the line-up at the Midnightshift on Oxford St in Sydney helped return the crowds week after week. Shigeki's notable residency achievements over his six year career are numerous but include Australia's largest parties at Fox Studios, Australia's major super-club HOME, Sydney's Harbour Party and Toybox at Luna Park to name a few.
One of Shigeki's stand out abilities is knowing how to play to the audience and the occasion. Whether it's interlude or prime time, Shigeki delivers unique sets of deep and percussive house mixed with his original mixes and re-edits. Soulful vocals and hypnotic strings are a regular manifestation in the musical journey that Shigeki creates for his crowd. With a rapidly building diary of international dates, he has moved to Singapore poised for the gigs. His ability on the world stage and unique crowd connection will see him rise continuously and brightly as the most breath-taking, rising sun. Shigeki most recently headlined the official opening and the closing parties for the Kansai Rainbow Parade in Japan (2007) again with return invitation.
